WNC Library & Media Services: Library Cards & Privileges

Current WNC students and staff may register for a free library card number which allows them to borrow materials from WNC, the Univ. of Nevada, Reno, and other NSHE system libraries. Library cards are NOT needed for access to the library's online research databases; the WNC email address and passwords are needed instead.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR A LIBRARY CARD ONLINE:

Students

Current WNC students and staff only
Go to the student online registration form.
Students must provide their student ID # which starts with a W.
W# determined by accessing Web-REG. After logging in, the W number appears in the upper left corner
After registering online, the library card number is emailed to the student. (Allow 24 hours for processing; longer on weekends)
The plastic library card is mailed later.

Faculty and Staff

Log in to the college Intranet (WestNET)

Please note:

$5 replacement fee for lost cards
Library cards must be updated each semester - call the library numbers listed below or renew it online

Library card benefits enable students and staff to:

Check out books at any WNC campus library
Check out books at the University of Nevada, Reno as well as other Nevada academic libraries (various restrictions apply)
Order materials from other libraries

Checking Library Accounts

Using their library card number, WNC students and staff can check their library accounts online to see what materials they have checked out and when they are due. Materials may be renewed for an additional period of time by:

Calling a campus library (see numbers below)
Renewing items online
Bringing the items into the library

Community Borrowers

Must already have a card issued by a Nevada public library
WNC doesn't issue library cards to non-students or non-staff members.
