Overdue Fines: Western Nevada College Library & Media Services

When fines have reached $5, students will be blocked from borrowing. Students may also be placed on "financial hold," which prevents them from receiving grades and registering for future classes.

Books (25¢ Per Day)

1st through 7th day after the book is due NO FINE
8th day after the book is due $2.00
Maximum overdue fine per book (billing fee) $10.00

Reserves

50¢ per hour for items checked out on an hourly basis
$1 a day on all other items
Maximum overdue fine per item $20.00
On the 10th day overdue, the patron will be invoiced a $20 late fee, the replacement cost and any additional billing fees.

Laptops

$20 per hour
Maximum overdue fine $50 per checkout

Interlibrary Loan $1.00/day

On the 10th day overdue, the patron will be invoiced a $20 late fee, the replacement cost and any additional billing fees levied by the lending library.

Maximum overdue fine on interlibrary loan materials $20.00

Replacement Charges

Books - replacement cost plus processing and billing fees
Media Equipment - replacement cost
DVDs, Videos, and CDs - replacement cost plus processing and billing fees
Laptops - replacement cost plus processing and billing fees

Repair Costs

Bindery Fee $ 15.00
Repair Fee $ 5.00
