
If your email and password work and you get a "site blocked" connection refused" or "could not be retrieved" you may have a firewall problem.
Many schools, companies and other organizations control access to the Internet via software that are called firewalls. If you are having a difficult time accessing our databases and you believe that you may be behind a firewall, you may need to contact your information technology (IT) specialist and ask if the company is using a firewall.
WNC Library's EZ-Proxy server is located at ezproxy.wnc.edu:2048. It makes an initial connection on (TCP) port 2048, and runs followup connections on (TCP) ports 2050 - 2250. Therefore ports 2048, 2050 - 2250 will need to be set to both send and receive TCP connections.
With this information your IT specialist should be able to configure access to the library's proxy server.
If you are accessing this from home, please contact your internet service provider to see how to troubleshoot this problem.
Click the Start menu button, and click Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, click Security Center.
