Searching for Books Using the Library Catalog

WNC library books are listed in an online catalog shared by most northern Nevada academic libraries. To find in-depth materials, search the library catalog by typing in the topic you are researching. Finding Articles & Journals Using Databases

Academic Search Premier provides full text coverage for nearly 4,700 scholarly publications, including more than 3,700 peer-reviewed journals. Coverage spans virtually every area of academic study from current articles back to 1975.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text provides the full text for more than 560 nursing & allied health journals. It also includes evidence-based care sheets and over 100 interactive continuing education units (CEUs) on patient care and drug administration.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition provides more than 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. It also features abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals.

Health Source: Consumer Edition full text for nearly 300 journals in health related fields. Topics include the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Masterfile Premier is oriented towards the general public providing full text for more than 1,700 general reference publications with some key publications dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes hundreds of full text reference books, thousands of biographies, historical documents and photos, maps and flags.

Finding a Specific Journal

Electronic journals can be searched by selecting "Find Magazines or Newspapers by Title" from the library home page. Researchers may also get a list of e-journals available on a given topic by selecting a subject category using the same link.
