The 7th editon of the MLA Handbook has been superceded by the 8th edition, 2016

MLA NOTICE

The MLA Handbook, 7th edition, is being superseded by the 8th edition, which was published in April 2016.  During this transition it is very important that you know which edition of the MLA Handbook your instructor is using for your class assignments.   If your instructor is NOT using the 7th edition of the MLA Handbook, go to the subject guide for the 8th edition.

This Modern Language  Association (MLA) formatting style guide is designed to help you create MLA citation style in-text citations and a works cited list for your research paper.  Use the tabs above to locate MLA books at WNC Library, video tutorials, and citation generators.

MLA Handbook

The MLA Handbook, 7th edition, is the best source of information for writing a paper in the MLA style.   Copies are available for check out  at the WNC Library.

Plagiarism

Many of the WNC faculty check their students’ papers for plagiarism using a software program called “Turnitin.”  To find out more information about plagiarism, go to the Plagiarism Research Guide.

MLA Style Citation Guide.  This brief guide from the Seattle Central Community College Library is an excellent overview of the basics of the MLA citation style.

EasyBib MLA Format Guide, 7th Edition.

Citation Fox: MLA.  An excellent overview of the MLA citation style from the University of Albany (SUNY) Library.
