Accessing WNC eBook Collections

WNC has two main academic eBook collections:

  • eBook Collection (EBSCOhost)
  • Ebook Central (ProQuest)

Getting Started with eBooks

Quick Start Instructions for downloading eBooks:

  1. Create an account in both the EBSCO eBook Collection and the ProQuest Ebooks Central databases.
  2. Download Adobe Digital Editions (free download) to your personal computer, and create an account.
  3. Access WNC eBook Collections, search for and checkout an eBook.

Note: Apps such as iBook, Bluefire and Adobe Reader allow transfer from Adobe Digital Editions to mobile devices, although this varies by collection.

Access to eBooks varies by database platform. Platforms may offer PDF downloads or require the use of free eBook viewing/reading software. The links below offer more detailed help in setting up devices for downloading.
