Library Services

The librarians at WNC are available to provide classroom orientations on general and/or subject specific research. Generally lasting one typical class period (1 hour 15 minutes), instructional sessions can be tailored to a specific subject and/or research project, or we can provide generalized research instruction.

The librarians have prepared a useful library research assignment for any topic which faculty may use to help their students get started on their research papers. Using their own research topic, it asks the students to find a book, encyclopedia, magazine, and newspaper article, as well as a high quality web site, on their topic using library resources.

Equipped with movable seating for up to 32 participants, digital projection equipment, computers, media players, and more, Room 201 in the Carson City campus library is an instruction room that is available for use by college personnel for workshops and training. Librarians are also available to conduct orientation seminars and research instruction. To schedule the room or an instructional session with a librarian, please call the library at 775-445-3229.
