Library Services

Use the tabs below to learn more about the different services available at the library.

Borrowing Materials

The new library system means that library cards are no longer necessary. Your account information will depend on the type of program you are enrolled in.

For WNC students:

  • Your account ID is your student ID number.
  • Your account password will be your WNC password.
  • All notifications will be sent to your student email address or the address registered with the college.

For ACCEL students:

  • Currently ACCEL students are being asked to come into the library to establish their accounts.
  • *Please Note* This process is being updated as part of the library system migration and may become automatic. We will update this page as needed.

For Continuing Education students:

  • Please bring in a valid, state-issued, photo ID so that we can set you up with an account.
  • In general, Continuing Education students will use their 10-digit phone number (without parenthesis or dashes) as their ID.
  • *Please Note* We have found that some student accounts using phone numbers include dashes, so if you are unable to log in, try adding the dashes.

Loan Periods & Renewals

The amount of time materials may be checked out varies:

  • Books: Most books are due 3 weeks from the date they are checked out.
  • Course Reserve Books: These selections have specific limitations on them; some may only be used in the library for 2 hours, some may be checked out for 2 days, depending on the course.
  • Laptops: Laptops may be used in the library for up to 4 hours.
  • Chromebooks: Chromebooks are due by the end of the semester.

Books may be renewed once, if not requested by another patron, for an additional 3 week period.

Books may be renewed by:

  • Clicking on the link in the email notice that is sent a few days before the item is due.
  • Renewing online through your library account.
  • Calling a campus library during business hours with your information.
  • Bringing the books to the library's desk during business hours.
